Dominican Convent School for girls has taken precaution measures to protect students against the corona virus (Covid 19) by training their staff and students on how to conduct lessons online (e. learning) so that when a time comes that the virus has reached the country, the school will be prepared.
According to a statement from the school dated 17 March 2020, training from IT professionals is undergoing right now at the school until 1.30 pm.
“On Wednesday 18th March, the school will have orientation for students with IT specialists between 8am and
1.30pm after which they will be dismissed to allow for teacher training. Parents are therefore encouraged to
pick up their children at lunch time on Wednesday.” The statement said.
Tomorrow the kids will then do a trail of the e learning at home then return to school for the normal lessons on Friday
“On Thursday 19th March, students are to remain at home all day for a trial run on their engagement with their
teachers on Google classroom. They will be expected to post completed work back to their teachers and
access the feedback on line.”
“On Friday 20th March, students will return to school as usual and an evaluation of the exercise will be done.” The school said.
