Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe has renewed its long-standing partnership with the Albino Charity Organisation of Zimbabwe (ALCOZ), handing over a donation of essential products valued at US$30,000 to support persons living with albinism across the country.
The handover marks 11 consecutive years of collaboration between the bank and ALCOZ, a relationship built around protection, wellbeing, and dignity for communities affected by albinism.
The donation comprises sunscreen lotions and sprays, sun hats, antiseptic soap, and lip balms — items critical to managing the heightened skin sensitivity and health risks faced by people with albinism. Each product category was supplied in quantities of a thousand units.
“For 11 years, we have proudly partnered with the Albino Charity Organization of Zimbabwe (ALCOZ) to support and empower persons living with albinism,” Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe said in a statement. “Today, we handed over a donation of essential products valued at US$30,000, including sunscreen lotions, sunscreen sprays, sunhats, lip balms and hygiene products, helping to promote protection, wellbeing and dignity for communities across Zimbabwe.”
The bank added: “Together with ALCOZ, we remain committed to building a more inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”
Sun protection remains a critical need for people with albinism, who face an elevated risk of skin damage and skin cancer due to a lack of melanin. Access to quality sunscreen, protective clothing, and hygiene products can significantly reduce these health risks, particularly in communities where such items are costly or difficult to source.
The latest donation adds to over a decade of sustained support from Stanbic Bank, reflecting a broader corporate commitment to inclusion and community welfare in Zimbabwe.
