RemitHope launches ‘Educating for Tomorrow’ campaign to raise US$200 000 for 10 provincial education hubs

As youth unemployment continues to weigh heavily on families and communities across Zimbabwe, social impact platform RemitHope has launched a bold US$200 000 national fundraising campaign, Educating for Tomorrow, aimed at turning vulnerability into opportunity.

The eight-week campaign seeks to equip young people with practical, income-generating skills in agriculture, carpentry, welding, tailoring and information and communication technology (ICT). The initiative will support the establishment of 10 Provincial Vocational and Education Hubs designed to serve as long-term engines of opportunity.

Rather than offering short-term relief, the campaign is focused on creating sustainable pathways to employment and entrepreneurship. By strengthening and formalising trusted community-based organisations into fully equipped regional skills centres, the initiative will significantly expand access to structured vocational training for more than 360 vulnerable young people nationwide.

Running from 24 February to 20 April 2026, Educating for Tomorrow represents a strategic investment in grassroots capacity — transforming local institutions into accredited, resource-ready hubs capable of delivering consistent, market-relevant training.

At a time when traditional development funding is increasingly constrained, RemitHope is championing an alternative model — one that mobilises diaspora remittances, corporate contributions and everyday giving into measurable, community-led impact.

Every dollar raised during the campaign will be matched, effectively doubling the investment in youth skills development and accelerating the journey from training to income.

Through this campaign, RemitHope is not simply raising funds, but also building a national network of opportunity — empowering young Zimbabweans with the skills, tools and confidence to shape their own futures.

The latest campaign builds on RemitHope’s recent fundraising successes, which have demonstrated the platform’s ability to mobilise resources for community development initiatives. The organisation recently ran the “10 for 10” campaign, which mobilised over US$110 000 for multiple grassroots development projects across the country.

Last year RemitHope also raised over US$80 000 to support the reconstruction of Mt Selinda Children’s Home in eastern Zimbabwe, which was gutted by fire.
