No Airtime? Still Call: NetOne Introduces Reverse Calling

In a country where communication is often interrupted by empty balances, a new service is changing how Zimbabweans stay connected. NetOne has introduced **Reverse Calling**, also known as *Pay for Me*, a service that allows customers to make calls even when they have no airtime.

For many people, running out of airtime means missed opportunities and unanswered emergencies. A parent may fail to reach a child, a student may not call home, or a job seeker may lose a chance to follow up on employment. These situations are not rare — they are part of everyday life. Reverse Calling has been designed to address exactly this problem.

With the new service, a customer with zero balance can still initiate a call. The receiver is notified and given the option to accept or decline the request. If they accept, they pay for the call at standard rates. If they decline, the call ends immediately and no charges apply to either party. The receiver remains fully in control at all times.

Initiating a Reverse Call is simple. Customers can dial 164 followed by the recipient’s number, or attempt to make a call with no balance and follow the interactive voice prompt. No registration is required, and the process is straightforward.

NetOne says the service is not about luxury or novelty, but about meeting people where they are. In difficult economic times, access to communication can be the difference between progress and delay, safety and risk, or opportunity and loss.

Reverse Calling also removes the frustration and embarrassment often associated with “please call me” messages that may never be answered. Instead, it restores real conversations — when they matter most.

As Zimbabweans continue to navigate daily challenges, small innovations can have a big impact. Reverse Calling ensures that a lack of airtime does not silence important voices.

Because life does not wait for airtime — and neither should communication.
