Igniting Africa’s AI Future: Cassava AI Announces Landmark Partnerships

During the 2025 Africa Tech Festival in Cape Town, Strive Masiyiwa made several groundbreaking announcements that position Cassava AI as a leader in Africa’s technological advancement. The message was clear: Africa is not merely a participant in the global AI race but is ready to compete at the highest levels.

A significant development is the appointment of Cassava AI as Africa’s first preferred NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP) by NVIDIA. This prestigious recognition enables Cassava to enhance and develop the continent’s AI ecosystem by offering crucial “GPU-as-a-Service” (GPUaaS) to businesses. The demand for this essential computing power is already increasing, with major telecom groups, banks, and two dozen AI startups enrolling for these services.

To further strengthen its strategic direction, Cassava AI announced a significant partnership with Accenture to provide sovereign AI enterprise solutions. This collaboration ensures that African businesses can access top-tier, secure AI infrastructure customized to their specific requirements.

In a move to increase access to AI, Google has chosen Cassava Technologies as a strategic partner to introduce data-free access to Google Gemini in multiple African countries. This initiative eliminates a significant barrier to entry, allowing millions to utilize advanced AI tools without incurring data charges.

Masiyiwa stressed that these partnerships exemplify effective execution for the #JuniorClass, demonstrating how ambitious visions are realized through collaborative, meticulous processes. According to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, Masiyiwa has enabled Africa to be on par with the rest of the world.

This is just the beginning. Cassava AI’s objective is to extend this robust technological infrastructure to every African nation that shares its vision, ensuring that the continent actively contributes to shaping the AI-centered future.
