In a move that signals a shift toward digital innovation, Steward Bank has rebranded to TN CyberTech Bank Limited, unveiling a new identity under the slogan “the future of banking.” While the name change hints at a bolder tech-driven direction, the logo design has left many industry watchers and brand experts unimpressed.
The previous Steward Bank logo was clean, modern, and visually accessible. Its simple, bold font combined with a distinctive purple color palette gave the brand a professional yet approachable feel. The tagline, “Everyday Banking For Everyday People,” reinforced the bank’s customer-centric approach — inclusive, relatable, and trustworthy.
In contrast, the new TN CyberTech Bank Limited logo feels cluttered and dated. The design features a gold-on-black color scheme with a complex, tech-style icon that vaguely resembles a keypad, card, and Wi-Fi signal. While the intent was likely to reflect digital transformation, the result is a logo that lacks clarity, balance, and memorability.
Typography plays a critical role in banking branding, and this is where the new logo falters most. The inconsistent font weights, combined with poor spacing and color contrast, make the text hard to read — especially on small screens. It’s a misstep in an era where brand perception is shaped first and foremost by digital interaction.
While the rebranding marks an exciting chapter in the bank’s evolution, the logo does little to inspire trust or confidence. In banking, design is more than style — it’s a statement of reliability, innovation, and security.
For now, TN CyberTech may have changed its name, but if it wants to lead in digital banking, the brand design needs a serious second look.
