The Ambassador of the state of Palestine Tamer Almassri warns of the Israeli occupation forces’ aggression on the northern West Bank. The brutality of the Israeli forces has forced 40,000 Palestinian civilians to flee their homes, leaving behind a trail of destruction, with homes, villages, and infrastructure systematically blown up and destroyed. This senseless violence is not only a gross violation of human rights but also a blatant attempt at annexation and racist expansion, aimed at isolating Palestinian areas from each other.
Ambassador Almassri condemns this campaign of forced displacement and demolition as a clear attempt at annexation and racist expansion, aimed at isolating Palestinian areas from each other, particularly in the cities of Jenin, Tulkarm, Tubas, and Al-Far’a. This destructive campaign comes alongside the ominous threat of a renewed war in the Gaza Strip, signalling a dangerous escalation across the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Israeli occupation forces, under the instruction of the so-called “Defense” Minister, Katz, have declared their intention to prevent displaced citizens from returning to their homes, and to maintain a prolonged military presence in the area. This is a clear indication of their disregard for the well-being and safety of the Palestinian people, and their determination to pursue a policy of oppression, occupation and domination.
The State of Palestine urgently calls upon the international community to take immediate and decisive action to force the occupying state of Israel to halt its aggression against the cities of the West Bank and demand the establishment of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The international community must understand that these actions are inextricably linked. Failure to act will inevitably lead to further tension and escalation, plunging the region into continued chaos and endless wars. The alternative is clear: decisive intervention to uphold international law and protect Palestinian civilians.
The State of Palestine emphasizes that the ongoing aggression in the West Bank and the threat of renewed conflict in Gaza represent a grave threat to regional and international peace and security.
