In fostering a thriving democracy, a professional and responsible media is considered the crucial backbone. Recognizing this, the Zimbabwe Online Content Creators (ZOCC) has initiated a workshop aimed at enhancing professionalism among content creators.
At the workshop, ZOCC Chairperson, Toneo Rutsito, emphasized the importance of a media that is responsive to the needs and aspirations of the people. He believes that by upholding good conduct, digital media can play a pivotal role in building positive lives, promoting peace, and championing national interests and development aspirations.
Rutsito further highlighted the power of the media in shaping national narratives. To ensure accuracy and credibility, he stressed the significance of trained and ethical content creators who possess a national mandate to provide accurate information and education. This workshop, therefore, is designed to empower content creators in fulfilling their role as custodians of reliable media content.
By nurturing professionalism and fostering a sense of responsibility, ZOCC aims to rebuild trust in the digital media landscape. As media professionals receive the necessary training and support, they can contribute to a more informed society, strengthen democracy, and drive positive change for the nation.
