Cimas gives underprivileged children ZITF treat

Cimas Health Group recently sponsored a special trip that enabled 80 underprivileged children from rural schools to experience the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), an opportunity they’d never had before. Cimas covered the children’s transport, accommodation, entrance fees, and meals. Twenty children came from Ndlovu Primary School in Matabeleland North Province and 20 from Jotsholo Secondary School in the same province. Forty children came from various schools in Wedza, in Mashonaland East. The children were accompanied by eight teachers who had never been to the trade fair before or even to Bulawayo. They were fascinated by the impressive displays and stands and opened their eyes to new career possibilities.

Cimas Health Group’s Chief Executive, Vuli Ndlovu, addressed the ZITF International Business Conference, which Cimas co-sponsored. He shared with the audience that he had first attended the trade fair at the age of six, and the exposure to commerce and industry had given him an advantage in his studies. Inspired by his own experience, Cimas had invited the 80 rural schoolchildren to attend the fair at Cimas Health Group’s expense. He expressed hope that this would have some impact on their lives and motivate them to pursue careers they never believed were possible.

Mr. Ndlovu also shared that Cimas Health Group had invested five million US dollars in healthcare infrastructure last year, and this year expects to invest eight million US dollars. He assured the audience that the ultimate goal is to ensure that Zimbabwe has state-of-the-art healthcare infrastructure that can contribute to improved healthcare outcomes and attract inward medical tourism. He added that Cimas welcomes the government’s efforts in promoting Public Private Partnerships and looks forward to partnering with the government in some of these initiatives. Mental health is an area of interest for Cimas, and one of the important issues in health is “health equity,” which ensures that everyone can attain the best level of health.

Overall, Cimas Health Group’s sponsorship of the rural children’s visit to the trade fair and the ZITF International Business Conference is part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives and in line with its purpose of inspiring healthier communities by providing top-quality health and wellness solutions.
