Strive Masiyiwa’s daughter Elizabeth Tanya has been appointed to the board of directors of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited.
The appointment is with effect from 1 April 2022.
Elizabeth Tanya Masiyiwa is a social entrepreneur and smartech executive. She is an Executive Director at Delta Philanthropies and the CEO of Akello, an African company transforming education with technology-based solutions.
Elizabeth is a non-executive Director who serves on the board of Cassava Smartech and is a board member of Higherlife Foundation where she leads the Office of Design and Innovation. She is responsible for the education portfolio across the foundations and the Econet Group of Companies.
Elizabeth is a board member of Ashesi Foundation, sits on Harvard University’s Leadership Council for the Centre of Africa Studies, and advises a number of entrepreneurship and philanthropy networks. She co-manages a social impact investment fund that invests in initiatives that promote economic development in Southern Africa.
Elizabeth completed a Bachelor of Science in Banking & International Finance. In line with her passion to find sustainable solutions to the world’s most pressing issues, she also holds a Masters of Social Entrepreneurship.

The Board of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Miss Elizabeth Tanya Masiyiwa to the Board of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Limited. The appointment is with effect from 1 April 2022.
Miss Masiyiwa is a senior executive, social entrepreneur and philanthropist. She serves on a number of Boards including Higherlife Foundation where she is the Head of Design and Innovation and the Harvard University Leadership Council for the Centre of African Studies.
Miss Masiyiwa holds BSc (Hans) degree in Banking and International Finance from Bayes Business School, City University London, a Masters of Social Entrepreneurship from Hult International Business School and is currently completing the Executive MBA from Cambridge Judge Business School, Cambridge University.
She has worked in various organizations, spearheading the investment and funding programmes as well as the human capital development of those organisations. She currently holds a number of leadership positions in both local and international organisations. Miss Masiyiwa brings a wealth of experience to the board.
