Netone Now Offering Gaming Services Dubbed OneGaming

State-owned mobile telecommunications service provider, NetOne, has launched OneGaming, a development that will contribute to the growth of the gaming industry in Zimbabwe.

Officiating at the launch, NetOne board vice chair, Engineer Gibson Jumbi, said the new service was in line with Government’s goal or improving access to ICTs and the OneGaming platform gives subscribers improved access to ICTs.

“Our objective is to provide NetOne subscribers with a gaming platform that gives them an option to select and play highly engaging Android and HTML5 games. The games can be played on any mobile device and have compatibility across browsers and platforms be it android or iOS or other WAP browsers,” Engineer Jumbi said.

He said the NetOne focus is to tap into the gaming space and increase subscriber engagement by providing a gaming service which has been neglected for long.

Mr. Nyaradzai Shoko, the NetOne Head of Retail and Sales Channels said the OneGaming platform is affordable for all Zimbabweans with subscription bands ranging from ZWL$20 daily, ZWL$50 weekly and ZWL$100 per month subscriptions.

“It’s game on with OneGaming wherever you are. play on and stand a chance to win awesome prizes with OneGaming. Top 5 winners from Top 5 popular games, that is, 25 winners per week will win ZWL$2 000 each so ZWL$50 000 is on offer. The top three 5 persons per month will each get ZWL$10 000 to a tune of ZWLS150 000. The top 5 gamers from Top 5 selected games will each get ZWL$20 000 to the tune of ZWL$100 000,” Mr Shoko said.

The global gaming market size is expected to gain momentum by reaching USD 545.98 billion by 2028 while exhibiting a CAGR of 13.20% between 2021 and 2028.
