The Southern Africa Broadcasters Association (SABA) in collaboration with the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) and Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) will be convening the continent’s broadcast media leaders at the Broadcasters Convention of Southern Africa 2019 taking place at the AHA David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa in Victoria Falls (Livingstone) –Zambia, on the 29th to the 31st October 2019.

Hosted by the Independent Broadcasting Authority of Zambia (IBA), the critical annual gathering will also incorporate SABA’s 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM); and it will enable industry decision-makers and executives to seek and find solutions to strategic and operational issues within the context of the constant evolutionary changes of the digital broadcasting ecosystem.

Some of the key industry leaders confirmed to speak at this meeting include SABA’s President, Mr Stanley Benjamin Similo (also the Director-General, Namibia Broadcasting Corporation); the Director-General of the Independent Broadcasting Authority of Zambia – (IBA) Ms Josephine Mapoma; the Director-General of Rwandan Broadcasting Service – Mr Arthur Asiimwe; the Chairman of Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation – Fikadu Tessema; and the Chairman of the Zambia Film Makers Association – Mr Alick Nyankata.

According to the Publisher of Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) Mr Benjamin Pius, “With the theme ‘Connecting People With Vibrant, Converged Broadcast Media’, this flagship gathering will provide an excellent opportunity for TV, radio, film, music, telecoms and advertising professional to activate digitisation tools to connect the peoples of Southern Africa sustainably.”
