FirstCapital Unveils Entrepreneur Challenge

Zimbabwe Regional Representative for FasterCapital, Mr Tawanda Mutukwa has called on entrepreneurs, hubs and incubators to join their fast growing technology company as partners so as to develop the ICT business in Zimbabwe.

In an interview, Mr Mutukwa said the company provides mentorship and technical support to those willing to be partners. “We provide mentorship and technical development skills for the start up as part of cofounding, he said.

“We have four funding rounds per year and we currently have a funding round that opened on the 9th until the end of March, so any interested entrepreneurs are free to come to our website to apply.” He added.

FasterCapital was founded in Dubai City by two men, Hesham Zreik and Bashar Hamood in 2010.

“In Zimbabwe we are still setting up offices, however since our services are virtual online entrepreneurs can still get in touch with us via our website or they can contact me directly on 0772446619.” Mr Mutukwa said.

Upon asked how FasterCapital will benefit the economy of Zimbabwe, Mr Mutukwa said the Company provides local entrepreneurs with a chance to build their start ups.

“We believe by giving local entrepreneurs a chance to build their start ups thereby helping towards contributing to the economy, bringing exciting solutions to the world and unleashing the potential that Zimbabwe has to offer.”

“As fasterCapital our model is what is called co-founding and co-funding model. What we do is for selected entrepreneurs we provide 50% of the funds for an idea in US dolars that is the co- funding part then in cofounding we provide mentorship and technical development skills for the start up.” He added.

FasterCapital’s vision is to create a global organisation that could carter to the dreams of nontechnical co-founders who are interested in building tech start ups.
