Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ Launched in Zimbabwe: Here’s What You Need to Know

Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones have been launched in Zimbabwe, within 30 days of their global unveiling. For those unaware, the new Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ have faster processors, better cameras, AKG-tuned dual speakers for enhanced audio, and AR Emojis, among other features.

The phones, also include features like dual aperture and slow-motion video options, will compete with high-end devices like Apple’s iPhone X and Google’s Pixel 2 series. It also has features like dual-stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos surround sound capabilities.

Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be offered at a price of $1599 and $1828 respectively. The handsets will be available from Econet Shops.

Galaxy S9 will come with 5.8-inch display, 4GB RAM, 12MP rear and 8MP front cameras and 3,000 mAh battery.

Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, features 6.2-inch display, 6GB RAM, 12MP rear and front cameras, and 3,500 mAh battery. Both devices support expandable memory of up to 400GB.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ offer the AR Emoji feature, which is the Samsung’s answer to Apple’s Animoji with a few changes. AR Emoji are meant be virtual avatars, letting users turn themselves into a tailored emoji. These emoji can be shared via the keyboard app to any app, and regardless of the recipient’s phone.

Both smartphones also feature Bixby Vision in the camera app, offering live translation features, scene and building recognition, and a calorie counter.
