Alert! Your WhatsApp Could Stop Working Post December 2017

From 31 December 2017 instant messaging app WhatsApp will no longer support a few phones. So if you are still operating on one of these, it is high time you got another phone.WhatsApp will stop working for a number of users this month, the company has confirmed.
The hugely-successful messenger app will no longer offer support for BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10, Windows Phone 8.0 and older.

WhatsApp has originally told users support for these aging mobile platforms would be stopped by the end of 2016.But as the end of the year drew close, the Facebook-owned messenger updated its blog post, informing users the deadline was pushed back to June 30, 2017.And later extended the deadline again until December 31st 2017.

WhatsApp has explained that Nokia S40 will no longer work after December 31st 2017.

For users of Windows Phone version 8.0 and older, WhatsApp will no longer be available until the end of December this year while for Android versions 2.3.7 and earlier versions, support will be pulled out for the messaging app on February 1, 2020.
According to the popular messaging app, “because we will no longer actively develop for these platforms, some features may stop functioning at any time.”

Since WhatsApp will no longer be actively developing these platforms, don’t expect to get your hands on any new features either.
Likewise, glitches and bugs within the app will not be fixed with software updates.

As for the new features in upcoming updates, some of them may not be working on older mobile phones and those included in the list. But still, improvements keep coming to enhance the experience of WhatsApp fanatics.

While video calling is now popular on WhatsApp, people who still prefer text messages will be able to do some tweaks with the chat messages they send. In a nutshell, if you rely on WhatsApp every day in either your professional or personal life, we believe, it might be time to think about a new phone.
