Kwesé Free Sports Is Now Available In Nigeria

The channel, which is Africa’s first pan-African free-to-air channel, is currently available in 20 countries on the continent.

As the name Kwese Free Sports TV suggests, this channel will be all free and focusing on sports contents. Other than the EPL, (well, the one match every Saturday), Kwese has also signed up rights to other sports like the National Basketball Association (NBA), National Football League (NFL), Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC), AVIVA Premiership Rugby, and Formula E Championship among others.

Kwesé Free Sports is now available for free on Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in Abuja and on free-to-air Analogue in Lagos. The channel can be accessed on the Free TV free-to-air set-top box. The TV network plans to broadcast KFS on TV in more regions in Nigeria in the coming weeks.

Whilst free-to-air broadcast is currently limited to Abuja and Lagos, viewers across Nigeria can access the best in international and local sports by downloading the Kwesé App, which is available on Android and iOS.

Along with Kwesé Free Sports, viewers will also have access to Kwesé TV’s recently launched premium sports channel KS1, as well as other exclusive channels including NBA TV and Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) amongst others.

Commenting on the channel, Group Chief Executive Officer and President of Econet Media Joseph Hundah said: “Our goal is to bring the best in sports to the fans and Nigeria is home to some of the most passionate sports fans on this continent.

“The Kwesé App is live nationwide and plans are underway to expand the broadcast of the channel to other regions in the coming weeks. In the meantime, sports fans can download the app and experience Kwesé on any mobile device, anywhere in the country.”
