GetBucks Appoints Evans Munyuki as New Chief Digital and Information Officer

GetBucks has appointed Evans Munyuki as the company’s new Chief Digital and Information Officer. GetBucks provides salary-backed short-term consumer loans and operates from fifteen (15) branches located throughout
Zimbabwe.

Before working at Getbucks,Evan Munyuki was the Head of Alternative Business Models at Barclay Africa.

Munyuki has over 23-years business leadership, IT portfolio and digital experience to GetBucks, Munyuki will be heading up the digital division of the company in Africa to make use of credit technology.

Evans Munyuki joined Barclays Africa in December 2010. Evans brings a varied mix of international and emerging-markets leadership and management experience. He was the Head of Alternative Business Models for the Group’s Retail & Business Bank. Prior to this, his Barclays Africa Group roles were: Head of Digital for Retail & Business Bank, Head of Digital for Business Bank, CIO for the Retail & Business Bank, CIO for Core Banking, Architecture and Innovation, and CIO for Business Bank.

Prior to these roles, Evans was the Group CIO for The Kelly Group. Evans worked for IBM for 15 years (in the USA and in South Africa) where he held many leadership and execution roles.

To date, Munyuki has successfully delivered over 300 projects in three major listed companies, in the USA, EMEA, AP and South Africa. He is also the recipient of the Top Thought Leader Award at the 2011 CIO Summit and holds an Associates Degree in Applied Science in Electronics Engineering from Western Carolina University (USA).
