The Computer Society of Zimbabwe (CSZ) will be hosting the ICT Skills for the Future program aimed at administering skills of innovation to software developers and computer programmers in the country, the event will be held on August 30 at Rainbow Hotel in Bulawayo.
Speaking to Techunzipped, Kudakwashe Motsi of the CSZ said the program is open for all students, aspiring Software developers, programmers and I.T Investors who are in Zimbabwe.
“We are calling upon all ICT aspiring professionals to join us in discussing the future of ICT skills in Zimbabwe, during this event we will be addressing challenges that are being face and giving suitable solutions,” said Kudakwashe.
He also said that during the night of the event they will be launching the Software Development Community (SDC) which is in partnership with 7 main universities through their computer science and IT departments.
“We will be launching SDC as well during the night and it is important to attend to learn more and discuss the future of software engineering as well as getting a chance to network,” he said.
Speakers on the event will be Takunda Chingonzo who is the founder of Neolab and Kalala Kensela the CEO of Soft-ICT.
The Computer Society of Zimbabwe was found in 2015 with its main objectives being to reduce the gap between the industry and the academic engagement and freelancers so as to induce utmost innovations to solve real world problems through research and software technology development together.
Kudakwashe said CSZ has affiliations with other ICT international bodies such as the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), the British Computer Society among others.
“It is clear that digitalisation is here to stay in Zimbabwe, so everyone is welcome to join us, the most interesting opportunity we can wait to see is a viable and sustainable environment were developers and businesses have a platform to collaborate to solve real world problems,” he said.
