The mid-range smartphones are exciting. Customarily, sub-flagship smartphones haven’t been receiving as much love as they ask for; there haven’t been that numerous ‘hero’ devices to come out from the more inexpensive ranks. Last year, we saw a good deal of spec-heavy handsets that were built to attack the more affordable segments of the market. Furthermost due to time, though, those products were exactly that: heavy on specs, but light on character – with generic features and boring aesthetics.
The Hisense Infinity Pulse is no exception to this rule of good design and is, as you’d expect, constructed out of only the finest build materials Hisense could lay its hands on. It is not a particularly eye-catching device from the front, looking like a long, white slab, but it does feature a very tight antibody design with excellent button placement (volume/power right hand side) that feels exceptionally premium in the hand.
In an progressively larger and deeper ocean of generic-looking plastic and metal products, Hisense Infinity Pulse stands out as accustomed, yet distinctive model. It’s both aesthetically pleasing and convenient to work with.
Hisense Infinity Pulse (HS-L682) Review: Display
The Hisense Infinity Pulse has an AWESOME display. The giant 5.0″in QHD AMOLED panel clocks in with a ridiculous HD 1280 × 720px density and some of the truest, brightest colors I’ve ever seen on a mobile phone. Colours really do pop off the screen and dissimilarity, thanks to the AMOLED panel, is stunning. The glass type is OGS (One Glass Solution).
And if that wasn’t enough, the Hisense Infinity Pulse (HS-L682) supports ambient display mode which basically means you can see notifications and updates on a blank lockscreen without using any power. Not a new feature by any spring, but this is a great addition to Hisense Handsets.
I love the Hisense Infinity Pulse (HS-L682). I really, really do. But one of my favorite things is something I hadn’t even dreamed was possible good battery life. And not just excellent battery life, but battery life you simply do not have to worry about anymore.
The Hisense Infinity Pulse features a 2000mAh battery, good enough for today’s standards, and normally this would deliver excellent results. Combine it with Android: 4.4 KitKat and other built-in power-saving features, though, and it goes above and beyond expectation.
One of the main reason I used the Gtel X3 was the long battery life it was insanely good. Nothing else ever came close until I used the Hisense Infinity Pulse, which does just about the same as my Gtel X3, meaning it’ll do a solid two days with minimal usage and a full day with hardcore usage.
Hisense Infinity Pulse Review: Verdict
The Hisense Infinity Pulse is EASILY my favorite handset of 2015 — bar none! It looks great, feels great, performs great and has the best software currently available inside the mobile space. Battery performance is exceptional, the camera is decent and overall performance I’ve had this phone for review for almost a month is solid, reliable and consistent.
